fear of dust

A person who has an irrational fear of dust is suffering from amathophobia. This form of mental illness may produce intense bouts of anxiety and may even require hospitalization if a debilitating panic attack occurs. People suffering this condition find it difficult to manage the normal activities of daily life since dust is just about everywhere. Sufferers of amathophobia will usually spend a great deal of their time during the day cleaning and dusting in an often futile attempt to relieve their anxiety. Source: Disorders.net
